The Falkland Islands are an archipelago located in the South Atlantic. The main island is located about 500 kilometers east of the southern coast of Batagonia in South America. The entire archipelago includes Socada Island, Grande Malvina Island, and 776 small islands, with a total area of 12200 square kilometers. In 1982, Argentina implemented military occupation of the island, leading to the outbreak of the Falklands War. After Argentina's defeat, Britain regained sovereignty over the archipelago. The Falkland Islands are a British overseas territory with internal autonomy, and the UK is responsible for its defense and foreign affairs. The capital of the archipelago is Stanley, located on Isla Soledad. The official language of the Falkland Islands is English.
The Falkland Islands do not have an independent trademark registration system, and UK trademark registration automatically extends protection to that region without the need for a separate application. At the same time, UK registration will automatically extend to the Isle of Man and the British Indian Ocean Territory (including 2300 tropical islands of various sizes in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean).
